Antique Roses - Blossoming A Century Later
Please be on the lookout for Antique Roses - Blossoming A Century Later made by Linda Fisher and Alpha Craig. This quilt was to be displayed at the 2002 International Quilt Festival. Tragically, it was stolen on October 24, 2002, during the set-up for the show at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas. A second quilt was stolen at the same time.
This originally designed quilt incorporates a distinctive wagon wheel/circle design. It is 77" by 77". The main colors are red, white and blue. It is made with vintage quilt blocks from circa 1900 and was reworked into the new setting in 2001/2002. It is hand appliqued and hand quilted.
If you have any leads regarding this theft, please contact Linda through the Lost Quilt Come Home Page.
For more information about these thefts, please read the official response from Karey Bresenhan, Director of the International Quilt Festival.
