Recovered!
African Savannah

In August 2005 Katrina Sjoberg sent her quilt, African Savannah to the World Council of Arts Show in San Francisco, California. A representative was supposed to return it to her after the show, but she waited and waited, fearing the quilt was lost. After nearly two months of being missing, she finally received her quilt.

The quilt is 40" by 46". It is mostly browns, tans, turquoise, and mutli-colored triangles. It uses a large animal print by Alexander Henry which features elephants, leopards and tigers. It is machine pieced and machine quilted. The large animal images are fused to the surface. It was made in 2003. It has a decorative, machine-embroidered label hand sewn to the backing in the lower right corner.

Updated October 31, 2005.
