AQF Round Robin
In May 2000 Ruth Blanchet of Nelson, New Zealand participated in an American round robin, but she is still waiting for her finished quilt. It is a row-by-row quilt. Each participant was to to make a row of something that resembed animals on Noah's ark. Most of the ladies completed their rows as agreed upon and recieved their finished quilt top but for some reason Ruth still has not received hers. The last lady who had the quilt top was even sent a priority postage free bag to return the quilt, but she did not send it. Since that time Ruth has lost contact with her and is looking for information on how to find her. Ruth believes this person lives in New Richmond, Wisconsin.
Ruth made the first row with wild animals including a lion, a tiger, a rhino, a hummingbird and a cockatoo. The tiger print shown above is one of the fabrics she used. These animals were all pieced with cream on cream fabric for the background. When complete, the row was 36-1/2" by 6-1/2" long. Ruth thinks two other rows were completed before this round robin was lost. One row had African animals and the other one was foundation pieced.
If you know anything about this missing round robin, please contact Ruth at [email protected].
