Blue Plate Special Quilt

Coffee cup embroidered into center of each dresden plate block
Ricky McKaig is asking for help in finding a quilt she made in 2010, which she called Blue Plate Special. Ricky described her quilt in this way, “The quilt is a hand made Dresden Plate design, various blue fabrics making up the “plate” design with a white and blue embroidered coffee cup design in the middle of each plate. The plates are appliqued onto blue and white striped fabric. Each corner block is appliqued on blue fabric.”
The quilt has a label attached into the binding, in the bottom center on the back: “Blue Plate Special created by Ricky McKaig, 2010”
“The idea was to emulate the old truck stop restaurants and diners of the
50’s and 60’s that offered “Blue Plate Specials”, their special meals
of the day. The Dresdens were the blue plates, and the center was the
endless cups of coffee you could always get with these meals.”
“I was urged to put the quilt on consignment in a little gift shop of some mutual friends in Eufaula, Oklahoma. The gift shop went out of business a few weeks later and the quilt disappeared.”
I appreciate any effort you and everyone at Lost Quilt Come Home can
