Wedding dress quilt

osullivanlera-weddingdressquiltLera O’Sullivan hopes someone has found her wedding dress quilt. The quilt was last seen during October 2015 onboard Cunard’s QM2. It was inside a green Eagle Creek rolling duffle bag. Upon arrival in Brooklyn, New York on October 29, 2015, her bag never arrived at baggage reclaim in the cruise terminal. The bag disappeared somewhere between the ship and the baggage reclaim.

This cream quilt is about 40″ by 40″ (1m x 1m). It was made for her in 2014 by Lucy Portsmouth. It was made in a Regency style from the satin from her wedding dress. There is a mouse and a moose hidden on the quilt. The quilt is labeled with hand embroidery, “Matthew and Lera / 8 October 2010.”

Lera writes, “I hope that the quilt shows up someday. Perhaps we will find it in a thrift shop somewhere. It could literally be anywhere in the country, though the quilt technically went missing at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal in Brooklyn, NY. This was made from my wedding dress. I am devastated to have lost it.” If you find this quilt, please contact Lera at lera.osullivan@gmail.com.
