Julie Holahan asked for help in locating her Tales of Ireland quilt. It was last seen on May 28, 2014 when it was shipped from Conyers, Georgia to Roswell, Georgia. The box was empty when it arrived at its destination.
And then the good news! Julie’s quilt found its way home! It was delivered to her by the shipping company. It was not in its original shipping box.
Julie says, “Thankfully I wrapped the quilt in two large Zip lock carry bags and sealed it with duck tape to prevent moisture damage. My quilt was in perfect condition.” She added, “Lessons learned. Don’t use UPS to ship valuables, they don’t treat packages carefully even when marked ‘Fragile - do not crush.’ Always put name and address on quilt labels, that’s how they knew where to return it.”
The pattern for this quilt was a block of the moth pattern by McCalls. It is approximately 55″ by 65″. The main colors are green and pink. Some of the fabrics have shamrocks and fairies. The backing has leprechaun hats,’Luck of the Irish’ banner, four-leaf clovers in a woven basket, and Irish castles. This quilt is machine pieced and machine quilted. It has a label that includes Julie’s name and address, the name of the quilt, and the year 2014. The label is hand appliquéd to the lower right corner.
