Bicentennial quilt

Jacquie Jenkins is asking for help locating a Bicentennial quilt made by her deceased mother. The quilt was last seen in Front Royal, Virginia sometime around 2006. The quilt was mistakenly left behind with her ex-husband. He may have sold it at auction in Berryville or the Northern Virginial area (Woodstock or Front Royal).

The main colors are red, white, and blue in typical prints from the 1970’s. It has a white eyelet trim edge. The quilt had never been washed so it was in pristine condition the last time it was seen. It may have the name “Blanche Nicholas” on the binding edge written with a permanent marker. This quilt is hand pieced, hand appliquéd, and had quilted.

Jacquie wanted to keep this quilt forever since it is the only lasting momento of her mother, made by her hands for Jacquie. If you see a quilt that fits this description, please contact Jacquie at [email protected].
