Willie Fiedler made the Bali Bag from Auntie Two as a store sample for Tumbleweed Quilt Shop in West Barnstable, Massachussetts. It had been on display for about three years. Then, on April 10, 2013, Willie noticed an empty space where it usually sat. She looked all through the shop and tore her sewing room apart, but could not find it.
This bag was made with a Bali Pop (selection of 2-1/2″ wide strips of batik fabrics) and clothes line. It is made by wrapping the fabric strips around the clotheslines and machine stitching the rows together. The handles are also covered clothesline and are attached with large Dill lime green buttons. The finished size is about 14″ deep and 12″ wide. It is mainly blues and greens. Willie is able to identify it by the sewing inside.
