Jason’s Quilt

Jason's Quilt

Jason's Quilt

Ronda Covey hopes that someone found the quilt that her mother, Barbara (AKA Granny B), made for her son, Jason. The quilt was last seen in 1999 on I-70 between Colby, Kansas and Hays, Kansas. They were traveling along I-70 when the bag that the quilt was in was sucked out of the bed of their pickup truck when a semi passed them. The normally four-lane, divided highway was down to two lanes on the east-bound side, so by the time they were able to turn around and go look for it, they couldn’t find it. They couldn’t stop immediately because of road construction. This quilt was very important to Jason and he was devastated.

This is a king-size quilt. It has forest green strips around the nine-patch blocks. There are four large squares in the middle that Barbara called “Overall Sam” or it may be called “Suspender Sam.” They were made from Ronda’s grandfather’s overalls. The quilt is machine pieced and tied. Along one side, Barbara machine embroidered “Jason – Granny B 1998.” There is also a red heart embroidered on it.

If you’ve seen a quilt that fits this description, please contact Ronda at dee_dee2259@yahoo.com.

Found Lone Star Quilt

Found Lone Star Quilt

This quilt was found amongst lost mail. It must have been separated from it’s packaging.

The quilt was listed on this site on March 8, 2010. Happily, just a month later, the quilt owner has now been identified and located! It will soon be wrapped around the little baby it was intended for.

Just a reminder: please attach mailing address, contact info, or return address to a quilt when sending it. Stitch on a label that can be removed easily by recipient, but not fall off with rough handling.
