Lone Star Quilt

Mar 01 2001

Linda’s aunt made a queen-size Lone Star Quilt for Linda’s grandmother. It was made out of very bright colors and the star had hot pink tips. She hand-quilted around the star. Her aunt passed away before her family could find it. Linda is still trying to find this quilt for her grandmother.

If you can help Linda recover this quilt, please contact her at Birdysew@aol.com.

Family Baby Clothes Quilt

Nov 15 2000

Pam Burkland made a queen-sized quilt for her daughter using fabric from her childrens baby and toddler clothes which she had carefully saved for years. The backing is navy with tiny white hearts. The backing wraps around to the from and is piped in kelly green. The quilt was being hand quilted in kelly green. The blocks were no specific pattern except for an x-shape in the center using a bright green with pink and yellow medium sized flowers. This same fabric was used as a block in each corner of the quilt. On the edges, Pam had used a sunny golden block and she embroidered “To Ingrid”, the date, and “Love, Mom.”

The quilt was either stolen out of a storage space in Mountain View, California in 1994-1995 or out of a storage space in Portland, Oregon in 1995-1996. In Portland, it is possible that it was misplaced during the move of the household out of the storage space and down several floors to the truck.

Pam says, “I have been heart-broken over this loss and so is my daughter. I am planning to make another quilt for her but it can never replace the one with all their baby clothes fabrics in it.”

Can anyone help Pam find this quilt? Please contact her at pamburkland@aol.com or burkla@us.ibm.com if you have any information you can give her.

Sep 29 2000

Friendship Star by Anna Barrera

Friendship Star by Anna Barrera

Anna Barrera is searching for a special Friendship Star birthday quilt she made for her daughter, Sandras. It was shipped on June 29, 2000 from Houston, Texas to Chicago, Illinois, but it was not sent insured. There were other birthday gifts in the box as well, but it never reached its destination.

The pictures shown here were taken the day before she sent the quilt to her daughter. The quilt was made with many of her familys favorite fabrics and it is had quilted with prayers and good wishes. It fits flat on a queen size bed.

The label has a hand-embroidered bird in blacks and grays and looks like a pencil sketch. The label says, For Sandra From your mom, with all her love. Anna Barrera Houston, TX June 26, 2000

This birthday quilt has a lot of sentimental value and they would love to get it back. Please contact Anna at anna.barrera@honeywell.com if you know anything about her daughters quilt.

It has her full name and the year embroidered on the right inside edge.
