Silk Crazy Quilt

Dec 21 2010

Linda Bryant is hoping that someone has information about a silk crazy quilt which was made by her mother. It was sold at a summer yard sale held in Bangor, Maine in the 1960′s. A man bought it and said he was going to put it in a museum.

This quilt is full-sze. It is made with silk fabrics and has names and dates significant to her family including “Irving and Judy, Nov. 26.” There are also hand embroidered flowers. The quilt was edged with lace.

If you know anything about this quilt, please contact Linda at bryantsaap@ymail.com.

Nintendo Quilt by Jackie Clegg

Nintendo Quilt by Jackie Clegg

Jackie Clegg would like to recover the Nintendo quilt she made for her son, Dan. It was last seen sometime around 2002 in her home. She believes it is possible that a former family member may have sold it or discarded it.

The quilt was made in 1989. It is machine pieced and hand appliqued. The Nintendo characters are freehand machine embroidery. It is about 60″ by 80″. The blocks are muslin. The sashing is purple. The hand quilting is done in red and ecru.

This quilt was one of Jackie’s first quilts that she made as a special gift for her son. It has sentimental value and she would offer a reward to get it back. If you have seen this quilt, please contact Jackie at JackieClegg@dishmail.net.

This hand pieced quilt has flower blocks in multiple colors and they are put together with green. It is just the top and had not been quilted yet.
