Kaaterskill by Janet Atkins

Janet Atkins needs help recovering her quilt, Kaaterskill. It was being returned to her in New York via 2nd Day Air from Golden, Colorado, but the shipping company can no longer locate the package. This quilt was last seen on February 16, 2011.

This quilt is 82″ by 82″. It is hand pieced, hand appliqued, and hand quilted. Janet used a variety of reds, yellows, purples and greens. It is closely hand quilted with red and yellow thread. The backing is muslin. It has four central compass blocks surrounded by vines, a purple block border, and an outside vine border and it has a triangle outer edge. Janet worked on this quilt from 2005 to 2009. There is a label on the back with the quilt’s name, Janet’s name, her address, and her phone number.

The Times Union of Albany, New York picked up the story on March 17, 2011.
